They don't make them like him anymore. His Steve Austin portrayal was great. I wanted to be him as a kid. I used to imitate him by running in slow motion or raising an eyebrow to use my bionic eye. My right eye was bionic because I could raise my right brow.

Yeah, definitely agree with you. Obviously, the talent and allure of him as Steve Austin proved too strong, he was the perfect choice. I feel very fortunate to have grown up when he were real hero on this show. I would pretend to be bionic as a kid and make those sounds, ha.

A lot us looked up to Lee Majors and the character he played. When my long-time friend Steve was adopted circa 1976, he was allowed to pick himself out a new middle name. His choice? Austin!
That. Is. Awesome! Cool story, and an excellent choice on his part

I was born in '74, so I was quite young during the original run, but my strongest memory during that era is of me and a neighbor playing in my backyard and I pretended to be Steve Austin trying to save people from a runaway train aka the two seat bench swing on my swing set.A journey into the realm of the obscure:

This is what made the 70's so awesome. No X-Box, no vegetating on the couch for hours. Kids watched a tv program then went outside to become Steve Austin or Wonder Woman. An age of innocence and using one's imagination instead of relying on a mobile device to entertain.

Amen, ThePowerToArouseCuriosity.
I related this story in a thread on another board, but it fits here as well. Last Summer I was mowing the lawn on what was a perfect day. Blue sky, temp around 80. Just a glorious Summer afternoon. When I shut my mower off it hit me that all I could hear was the sound of air conditioners buzzing. Every back yard in sight was empty. I walked out front and there wasn't a soul to be found. No kids playing or whizzing by on bikes. They were all inside their houses.
I grew up in the age of home video games, cable and VCR's, but we did those things in moderation. Even in the dead of an Ohio winter we were outside. TodayA journey into the realm of the obscure:
