It's spelled Humour, Colour etc in most places in the world, even here in Canada, just because the United States wants to be different.

I didn't like Life of Brian, but I didn't like PineappleExpress either. Just didn't laugh at all. But still, I like english humour, more or less.

''I like english humour, more or less.''
What do you like about English humour? And how do you compare to Welsh and Scottish humour? Terry Jones is Welsh, by the way, though MP is from England.

I don't think that people who don't like Python aren't intelligent. I DO think people who watch Family Guy are morons.

Seriously, if you come on a popular movie's message boards to slam that movie, and you're so totally surprised and shocked when you actually get a negative response from some of that movie's fans, then maybe you ARE unintelligent.

For the record, I absolutely love the Monty Pythons.
But I also really don't like it when people throw abuse at you just because you don't like a certain thing. There are fans and there are obsessive fans, and the latter is something you have to watch out for, as they aren't exactly floating above the surface.

I love Python & Family Guy both. I've seen all the Python movies multiple times. I used to be able to quote most of the Python albums and skits and movies from memory. I own the first 8 Family Guy DVD sets

''What I would say, is that some of their comedy is quite "clever".''
The humour in Monty Python is very stupid. But it is stupid humour written by intelligent people, thus making it seem more tongue in cheek than outright retarded.
''I love an outspoken and politically incorrect personality''
Meh. Most people I know in the UK think that he was funny once, but has now just veered into being a complete ass.

I once tried to mediate between to groups that were having the same argument about Shaun of the dead eg: Some say Americans don't get UK humour etc- I think that some of the examples of USA humour that are bought by UK Broadcasters are quite dumbed down some maybe us in the UK dont get to see your best? Despite not ever saying Americans dont understand British humour or our humours better than yours etc the racist card was used.

God bless you, OP. God bless you. I don't care for Monty Python. I never have. I pretty much try to keep this a secret because whenever I discuss my opinion on the film I'm met with stares (more like glares to tell truth) and then a barrage of quotes from the film (as if hearing other people say the already imbecilic {in my humble opinion, don't hate me for it} quotes would change my mind about them.) I've totally noticed how arrogant Monty Python fans are and it pisses me off to no end.
I'm glad people find joy in this movie. I don't. All of the overly vocal fans need to get over themselves and have a nice hot cup of shut the beep up.

Bless you I like Python but not love it (the films are a different story) people tend to defend a favourite "something" to the end and if its not your taste its heretical. Could be worse could go into a shop that sells a cult type item and ask a question the scorn you get for being in their universe but not at their level of commitment.Fanboys of any topic claim the TV series as theirs

Using Jeremy Clarkson as an example of British humour (yes we spell humour that way in Canada, it's not us trying to be 'intelligent') not always being great is typical subjective slander. Many people (myself included) find the man hilarious most of the time. I love an outspoken and politically incorrect personality. The Stig bits are completely irreverent and silly, not meant to be clever in any way, hence the funny factor.
The irony of this post is that it reeks of arrogance in its own right. It's just a generic and aimless stab in the dark towards diehard fans. People having this zealously defensive attitude of Python movies is not unique to this particular group; every movie out there has its own dedicated group of individuals that will call you stupid for not liking their favourite film. This is how human beings work universally; we don't like others disagreeing with our opinion.
