I notice how every film school has a program for production also and it lasts a good 1-2 years.
It's understandable for crafts like direction, acting or screenwriting but what does one learn about production for 2 years?
Some insider knowledge that I don't know of if I naively finance my own film?(provided I have a lot of money) -

In the US, "producer" is just another name for a writer.
It seems like you're talking about
Executive
Producer, a job that typically requires little more than deep pockets. In that case I suspect that most executive producers are groomed for the job by their families, not trained in a trade school for obvious reasons. Others rise through the ranks and go from being wealthy actors and/or directors to being wealthy EPs.
