This is actually a good thing, and what a Governor should do.
He is preventing vultures, and protecting the American Citizens.
Republicans do this all the time, they coerce, ripoff, and buy cheaply from the people, then sell ridiculously high. The ones that get caught face few consequences if as ever.

I watched the full Bill Maher commentary on Youtube and he never said anything about being done with Gavin Newsom. He had very little criticism for Newsom at all. His criticism was mainly focused on the local LA government and not the entire stat, specifically the LA fire department for its messaging about diversity and the mayor for cutting the fire department's budget.
