Actually, I believe "Abby" is also a William Girdler film, that was well-received by the public and critics, but they had to pull it due to lawsuits from Warner Brothers over similarities to "The Exorcist". I'll have to check and see what's on the second disc of "Grizzly", but I think that documentary I mentioned is on there, as well as an audience response from a recent screening for the films' anniversary. "The Manitou" had Tony Curtis, and I want to say Samantha Eggar (I could be wrong!), and it was about this growth she had on her neck, that continued to grow, and it was an Indian witch doctor that eventually hatched out of her neck. Pretty wild movie, and really bizarrewas rated PG back then, but it was a very strong PG. Many people do not like the movie, saying it's silly, but I really enjoyed it, and to this day my sister talks about itscared the crap out of her! "Beyond the Door" is another favorite "guilty" pleasure of mine, that and "The Temptor" were my favorite clones of "The Exorcist". And you are right about that being the movie "Demon Seed""The Entity", though was extremely similar in story details, if I remember correctly.

Wow, just pulled up Girdler's page and he did some cool movies, but died at age 30 or so! Too bad, he may have come up with a few more good ones if he hadn't crashed! Asylum of Satan, Three on a Meathook? The Zebra Killer, Project Kill? Some cool titles, who knows if these are even available anymore? Maybe if Grizzly's out on dvd, there's a chance for the others to be released too?!
Yea, I loved Beyond the Door back in the day, I recently bought Beyond the Door 2, but it's not as good.some of those Italian movies can be so good - or SO bad, crappy plot, etc. I never heard of the Temtor!
So, is it safe to say that Abby is in a vault somewhere, NEVER to be released, because the Exorcist people felt 'threatened'?! Damn! ;(

But supposedly, there's been some talk about releasing "Abby", which I would immediately pick up, because I've heard so many good things about it. Yeah, how sad to die at 30, and basically his career was just starting to take off. I haven't seen "Beyond the Door 2", but I thought that got really good reviews?

That is so funny about the "jam"! When I saw this movie when it 1st came out, and I first saw the bear, I leaned over to my girlfriend at the time and said; That looks like a "jelly-bear" Funny.

"The Prophecy" was actually a decent flick, although the creature looked like a big bear dipped in raspberry jam
It's Prophecy (1979), not "The Prophecy", although I agree on your point! 🙂

The movie, The Pack was also known as The Long, Dark Night which I think was a better title.

You forgot one PIGS (1972). Ah yes, the 70's with their nature gone wild movies.
The worst film of the 70's, I have to say was YETI: GIANT OF THE 20TH CENTURY (1977). This is an Italian KING KONG clone. The music is blatantly ripping off the song "O Fortuna" from "Carmina Burana".
Tell me that is the worst.
