Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Sorcerer

In the scene where Serrano and Martinez are about to leave, right after Serrano hands Corlette the letter, there is a brief shot of a chalk drawing of a demon on the truck's front bumper. No coincidence it's form is very reminiscent of the Pazuzu from Exorcist.
Nice little subliminal nod, there, Friedkin.

I picked up on that. Makes me wonder if it was either Friedkin's personal 'in joke', or if it was inferring something of a very subtle supernatural subtext.

Probably both. I've thought about the supernatural subtext as well, fitting with the film's title.

I always suspected that there was another deeper theme to the story, even though Friedkin seems to deny it. Was it an unconscious thing?
The eerie Tangerine Dream Score sounded like something from a supernatural subtext. It always left me with disturbed vibes, like there was something else that ran far deeper.
'Sorcerer' could infer "getting to the source".
                It most likely is both.

The opening, before the "Sorcerer" tittle is shown, has some stone statue Pazuzu too.

The front grill of the ancient transport truck resembles Pazuzu

Yes, I thought several times in the movie there were little Pazuzu references, starting at the very beginning of the movie.

There are also demonic eyes drawn above the windshield of the Lazaro truck.
