Yeah, OK I never saw it and from your review it seems I'm not missing anything by not seeing it.
You gave a shout out to Longest Yard.
My most favorite football movie from the few I have seen.
I watched the remake and did that ever suck.
Reynolds looks like a QB while Sandler never will.
North Dallas is good at showing the politics of football.
Something which Rollerball, I guess, also tries with how corrupt sports are but I think that gets lost with the action of everyone literally killing each other in the roller derby ring.

I'm planning to rewatch North Dallas Forty this week and see if it looks better by now. The following is Semi-Tough in a nutshell…boring:

          Hmmmmm…..
Maybe it would be worth it to watch squeaky clean game show host Burt with a potty mouth!
          LOL
I kid but I can't believe he agreed to say that!
Was this before his Tattle Tales career or during?

Pretty close to the peak, especially for Bert Convy.

OK from watching more of the clip I see what it's about.
Making fun of or depicting EST training which was a self improvement seminar that was new and trendy at the time which a few H.Wood celebs did as it was offered to the general public.
By the time I took it and was involved we got restroom breaks and the leader did not curse at us like that but sometimes they were firm and would yell and scream.
It was all nothing but a money making cult and scam.
If you wanted attention just keep saying, "No," to the staff and volunteers as they would put the pressure on you to sign up and pay for different seminars which were offshoots of the big one as depicted here.
I felt like I got things out of it from being a volunteer where I put in many hours without pay but that was still not good enough for them as they kept trying to make me pay for programs that I did not want to take.
It becomes a disrespectful place that does not recognize our personal boundaries.
The day I quit I was actually volunteering as a worker in the offices of the leader.
I just had enough and realized my path with them had ended.

Yep, total money-making scams with no empirical evidence for success. Eventually, they were disproved as fads and frauds. I talked about various treatments in the penultimate paragraph of the following review:
