I used to pretend to be Jeff when I was a kid! I had his hat and everything. When it fell off my head, I wouldn't move until you put it back on. That's what my mom told me. Check this out: http://www.schuminw eb.com/todays-specia l/
I'm not even supposed to be here today -

Oh, the memories! I fondly remember coming home after school, eating a bowl of cereal, and watching Nickelodeon.
Does anyone else remember The Adventures of Black Beauty? I haven't seen that show mentioned on this thread. I have ridden horses since I was little, so I LOVED that show. I watched them over and over again and pretty much had all the lines memorized. The show was filmed in such beautiful areas of England.
I also loved You Can't Do That On Television, Mr. Wizard, Pinwheel, Out of Control, and Today's Special. There was a cool show called Livewire that was aimed more towards teenagers. I vaguely remember The Third Eye, Double Dare, Belle and Sebastian, and Special Delivery.
What about the stuff they showed to fill up time before the next show started? I remember one segment about following a treasure map on an island and another one about the moons around a planet. -

Oh my word. I didn't think anyone other than me watched Out of this World. How funny. I remember alot of the old classic "kids" shows. Out of this World, My Two Dads, YCDTOT, Mr Wizard, Clarissa Explains it All, are or were some of my favorites. I wish they would bring them back. I miss good programming like this on television. BTW? Are You Afraid of the Dark? rocked but I always thought Monsters, Tales from the Darkside and Friday the 13th the Series were scarier lol. That is when I could convince Mom to let me stay up and watch them.

I remember that the day's programming ended with Inspector Gadget and Mighty Mouse before heading off into the nocturnal rainbow.
Wasn't it Danger Mouse and NOT mighty mouse??
ANYWAY!! I have the BEST memories of Pinwheel and YCDTOT, Turkey TV, Danger MouseI can go on and on.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release these shows on DVD!!
There is a great website that shows
ENTIRE
episodes of YCDTOT!! Just listening to the opening music gave me chills!! Most of the Nickelodeon shows now can't even compare to those that we had the pleasure of watching. All That was cute, mostly because that Amanda girl is pretty funny, but other than that it drives me crazy to watch TV with my young daughter. (With the exception of Degrassi of course!!)

Definitely a cool idea! And bring back Don't Just Sit There!, the original Dare, Double Dare, and Family Double Dare; Salute your Shorts, Tomorrow People, Fifteen (yeah, I'm a sucker for teenage mellodrama), Welcome Freshmen, and all of the classics!
Is it just me, or is it funny to have a pop-up Kama Sutra? -

That show was called "Today's Special" and I remember it took place in either a mall or store of some kind. The guy was a store mannequin and when they put the magic hat on him he came to life. He turned back into a mannequin every night when they took the hat off again. This was one of those song and dance learning programs popular at the time like "Pinwheel".

That was TODAY'S SPECIAL With Muffy the MOuse, Sam the Night Guard, Jeffrey the Mannequin and Jodi (?) in the mall. Great Show!
http://www.ycdtotv.com for all your You Can't stuff!!
I hope they bring the old ones back somehow. They were so much more original and creative than what Nick brings out now.
