I caught majority of this movie, but missed the fight, and caught up with his son crying over his father's death..
can one explain how he died, in the boxing ring or after?

The Champ hopped up and did a little jig, every pointed at TJ and said, "You got PUNKED" and then they all went out and got blasted.
