I was so disappointed in the ending. How did Duncan know to call that restaurant anyway? Made no sense.

That's a good question but the thing is that's what makes movie killers, and in some cases real life killers, so scary, the things you think they could never know, they do, the things nobody could find out, they do, they are cunning, manipulative, and who knows, maybe they're all like my grandmother and have ESP. She's the same way, anytime she can't possibly know something, she does, and she always does it at the most inconvenient times JUST to screw with us because she enjoys torturing her daughter.

Note that her name and picture was in the paper and even before they reveal a shot of it when they're talking to Sharon, there's a scene where they show Curt picking up a newspaper and they purposefully slow the frame rate a bit to imply that he's picking up on information that could lead to how he knew. The exact restaurant, I don't know - but like said, that's the point of it being creepy.

My guess is that he picked up the picture, recognised her from years past. He then made "inquiries" and stalked her house and possibly remained inside days before the attack just like he did with the original family. That is how psychopaths are. They acquire information in ways we never dream they would. Its kinda like an old enemy from your school days who suddenly pops out of the blue years after you graduate and move on and build a new life.
