now, I haven't watched this movie YET, it's still on my 101-movies long watchlist (god help me), however, I did watch Victor Frankenstein a few weeks ago when my boyfriend invited me to see it, (we went there to actually watch Krampus but there was only one screening that day and it started at 11 pm) and after reading the description of this movie while browsing Lynch's filmography, I can't help but think that VF ripped this off, up until the point of "let's make a monster bruh", the plot seems pretty much identical to what the synopsis on here describes.
    opinions?

That's funny, I have had that same thought also.
I don't know that I would say it is "ripping off" since different stories do share similarities all the time, so it might have been coincidental. However, I think also possibly that might have been an intentional subtle homage. I had followed promotion (like interviews, previews, and such) for Victor Frankenstein before that movie had come out, and don't remember hearing them mention connections to this movie. Although, they could have thought that that was a recognizable enough film reference that did not need to be explained.
