Any idea how Mings daughter was able to cry? I thought it was physically impossible for her after she commented on Dale crying and had to ask for an explanation of why she was tearful.

Thankas foe that. That seems plausible. One more queston if you don't mind.
Zarkov trained his mind so as not to be brainwashed. Then how was he able to meet Dale after he was brainwashed as they would have used mind control to make him mer her?

Sorry, that should say 'meet her' (I was typing late at night!). This was before they went on the space buggy together and he revealed how he read from th Talmud and remembered Einsteins theory of relativity to avoid begin brainwashed.

Aura cried when Klytus ruined her bare back with that whip. For a beautiful woman accustomed to looking perfect in every way, that's a powerful, personality-altering trauma.

                Thanks for that, Johnny.
Perhaps you could hep me with this question please. Professor Zarkov used will power to defy them from brain washing him. How was he therefore able to be contacted by telepathy when he was instructed by them to intercept Dale?

I watched it yesterday with my two boys. I first watched it at the cinema in 1980, and loved it, but did think that if Aura had never seen somebody cry, then surely it was physiologically impossible for people of her race to cry. There were loads of people Ming oppressed, so surely she would have seen mothers who lost their sons cry etc. The entire race didn't just consist of Ming and his cohorts.

may it was more mings family that were brought up not to have emotion rather than the whole society. maybe people did it in private rather than be scorned for it in public

Ming explained that "it's a sign of their [i.e. the "earthlings'"] weakness".
Presumably the idea being that the inhabitants of Mongo, especially the Emperor and his daughter were supposed to be strong ruthless types. It's not that they're physically incapable of crying, they're just raised not to show emotions of that sort to the point crying is psycologically difficult to achieve. Once the princess has been humiliated though, all that breaks down.

Yes, control (of self and others) was everything in that society. This would especially true for the ruling class. It was clear in the novelisation (and strongly implied in the movie) that the Princess was as kinky as a nine-dollar bill, so it wasn't the pain of the flogging that reduced her to tears.
It was the humiliation of being whipped against her WILL that made her weep.
She was a proud woman, and resented the loss of her right to choose.

Aura probably cried before. She just wasn't aware of the word 'tear' because she was raised a Princess of the Black. Their actual hold over Mongo was weak, so Ming had to project strength.
Also, Aura was raised in an environment where she never had to say she was sorry.

No, when Dale cried she didn't recognise the phenomena at all. Aura had never cried before, except possibly as a teething infant and forgotten all about it.
She had no reason to cry. I doubt that any of the Royal house ever did.
