Man of Steel is my favorite but I agree that this is a really nice film I didn't expect it because it was lower than the first one (which I also liked very much) here on imdb. I gave them both an 8/10, which is high but well deserved, MOS though is a 10/10 for me.
Another thing unexpected was that I absolutely adored Christopher Reeve's version, and that's because everyone said that Cavill is totally different and I really loved his version, so I thought that I would dislike this one. Boy was I wrong.
Should I give part III and IV a chance btw? everyone says they're kinda bad. -

I wasn't planning on watching them anyway, but thank you for saving me from a potential disappointment. DC hasn't really let me down with both their old and their new movies I've watched, not only because it gives us mostly masterpieces but because I dodge the few flops too.

Superman II is clearly the best. I don't think it's even close. As a matter of fact, I think its the best super hero movie of all time. Man of Steel? Give me break? It sucked. The original Superman would clearly come in second, probably followed by Superman Returns. How can Man of Steel have General Zod and not give us a "Kneel before Zod!" line!?!?!? Lois Lane knows who Superman is from virtually the start? No Jimmy Olsen? He wins by
simply breaking the guy's neck
? It sucked. -

The original Superman is the worst of them all. Superman II was only the good one by default of how bad Superman I, III, VI and Returns were. Man of Steel is the best.
How can Man of Steel have General Zod and not give us a "Kneel before Zod!" line!?!?!?
So they didn't rehash Superman II. That's your problem? The problem with Superman Returns was that it was just Superman I again.
Lois Lane knows who Superman is from virtually the start?
Yeah, we're getting sick of this secret identity crap.
I don't give a f*@K about a troll who doesn't pay for his opinion telling me how to review movies. -

Only millenials like Man of Steel. It was a video game.
It had no heart. No chemistry between the leads.
The destruction was numbing, ineffective.
No emotion felt by the audience.
Kidder and Reeves are beloved as their characters.
