I agree she was spectacular on this program. Make sure you watch the two-parter where she goes on Gary Collins' Hour Magazine. In the second episode, she sings Neil Diamond's America. When I watched that a few months ago, I thought my goodness, such a talented woman TV stars today do not have one-tenth her ability to entertain.

Let us know when you see it, Stacy. I believe it was produced during season 5, which happens to be my favorite season. It's the episode called 'Second Chance Part 2.'

I actually have a comment linked to one of the 'America' posts. I love the history of this country, and what it stands for, but sometimes I'm disappointed in the government that runs it:
All of us lucky enough to be born here owe it to our brave ancestors before us, who risked their lives and gave up everything, in search of a blind dream, and an unknown future, heading to a prolific better place.
Everyone who didn't have to give up anything to live here needs to quit complaining that we don't have enough, our lives are not what it should be, and hand outs are few and far between. Gone are the days that we take our own destiny in our hands, determined to make a better life for our future generations. Our future selves.
People, wake up. It's not just about you. It's about us as a collective whole, and who we are, who we want to be. It's not just about one nation, but all of us as human beings, all living under the world's same blue ceiling.
We, right now, have the choice in what we choose to pass down as our legacy. Shed some tears and break a sweat. Love more than you hate. Laugh more than you cry. Always choose the good over the bad, and the right over the wrong.
Stop stressing over what is not there, and take the hands of your children, or those of who you love, and go make some memories. Great ones! Create some memorable stories so they too can be shared and passed down.
Leave a legacy of being of good character and hard work, so they can say "He laughed often. She loved hard." Be today a warm and honest person, so the future 'you' in generations to come, can look back and say, 'He was who I want to be today.'
I mean, seriouslyhow inspiring is this video?
You can feel the immigrants fears and hope, when they picked up the few things they had, their children's nervous hands in theirs, as they take those first steps onto a new land. Can you imagine how terrifying that must've been?

She was so funny and was one of those special entertainers that could do drama and comedy and she had such a beautiful singing voice. To me GAB will always be a celebration of the wonderful Nell Carter's many fantastic and rare talents.

She was very talented on this show and did have her own problems. However, if she liked you, there was no problem.

she made this show. i was depressed when i heard the saddest news about her. that she had passed away a few years ago. she couldn't have been older than 65. she died way too young.

she was an angel. in my opinion the best black woman comedic actor of all time. something very warm about the way she acted on this show that was so lovable and endearing and also so '80s which is the best part of her. she was on this show; the epitome of '80s sitcom magic.
nothing as comforting as watching an old '80s sitcom that i grew up with and i love to reminisce about watching a show like this show while watching a show like this show nowadays. back to a much simpler and innocent time: the '80s.
back when we were kids and had no cares or worries in the world except the urgency of watching our favorite shows on tv. no cellphone text messages, no computer to have to check our emails or social media message on and no message board messages to check.
we had our family and personal time back then. we weren't being bombarded by constant interfering with our private lives from technology. we didn't have to be constantly connected to everyone we had our privacy which was so much better than nowadays and comforting to have.
also we had to watch things live when they were on so it brought us closer together as people bc of the we are in this together feeling of super bowls and tv show premieres that you had to watch only when it was on. it was more special this way. also the channels and shows were limited which means we all watched the same shows which nowadays we dont have so we can't connect with friends and family in the same way over shared shows.

well i lived it it was such a quieter easier time back in the '80s compared to now. no cell phones constantly going off, social media taking everyone's attention away from family and friend no internet i mean as great as it is i so long for the peaceful quiet serenity the nature experience and home grown simple family and friends pleasures of life.
back when we didn't have a care in the world no worries or anxieties. things were a lot slower moving back then in the '80s which leads to better, healthier quality of life than fast pace bc fast pace means more stress and anxiety.
