Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Mommie Dearest

If Faye so desperately wished to distance herself from MD, why did she choose to play another over-the-top campy villain in supergirl? One would think she would have preferred more subtle roles.

you know another way for an actress to make money?
this is one thing, and it's not like what Johnathan taylor Thomas did on Home Improvement
he wanted out of the show [that was only on for another season] to focus on school and what does he do when he's out? MAKES THREE MOVIES!
      Oh God. Fortune

By the time she did that LAME Supergirl movie Mommie Dearest was not quite a "camp classic" ..YET.
Rater- it was just a regular movie that had come and gone. It took one "generation" to become a "Plan 9 from Outer Space" type laugh fest. It needed "incubation time" .
