A man with basic level of fitness that can run a 6-7 minute mile, can lift twice his weight, can do 10 pullups, etc. It's really basic stuff, but 99% of people can't.

It's funny that I say basic functional fitness, like being able to do 10 pullups and you think that equates to being an elite world-class athlete.

It's pretty hard for a grown man to lift twice his own weight.

It's really not. Lifting twice your weight is a basic functional strength level for the lower back. Most people who have a physically demanding job can do it with little to no training. An out of shape office worker could get there in a few months training 1-2 times a week.

This movie was made during the bodybuilding craze, at a time when steroids were still legal.

He looked healthy and natural. Nothing wrong with being in shape but we really live in such a shallow society today. I know guys that take steroids and females on extreme diets that it's really sad seeing people destroy the health for this narrow point of view of what a body should look like

The health risks of steroids are grossly overstated. They are about as risky as having a cigarette once a day, or taking contraceptives.
I'm with you on the females on extreme diets. That's just stupid.

Agreed. I live in a big city and know people like that too. That's why I prefer watching movies and cut many ties, all they did/ do is talk about superficial crap and showing off their material wealth, also mostly crap.
