You don't see many lead actors like Tom Atkins in 2016

Nah he's more like an unattractive Harrison Ford. Big Tom comes across as a real man who is put in unusual circumstances. He drinks, smokes, pulls younger birds and acts like a man should. I love his characters / performances in Halloween 3 and The Fog!

I believe Halloween III is the best role I’ve seen him in. He was very believable as Doctor Challis and was intelligent and resourceful. He was also a concerned and caring person, even if he had a few demons.
I like H3 very much. An unusual, creepy and suspenseful supernatural thriller that had me glued to my seat right from the start. Well cast and directed.
That is Jamie Lee Curtis’s voice you hear over the PA in the town… “Curfew! Curfew!”

I agree. Mr. Atkins is just great in "Halloween III". He's so dang likable.
I first heard about that being JLC on the town speakers a few years back. Cool!
I actually kind of like the town.
Imo, this is one of the times Leonard Maltin totally missed the boat. He gave it a BOMB. I don't get that. It's got oodles of atmosphere and it was a definitely a try at something different. I enjoy it thoroughly.

Maltin was a dork! He was likeable too, just wrongheaded and rigid.
I had a little teen boy crush on Atkins when I first saw this movie. I’d fantasise saving him from the diabolical Conal Cochran and then for a reward….
…..well you can fill in the gaps….

"Saving Tom Atkins"
That's too cute!
The other day I watched the S&H episode where sweet Hutch gets hooked on heroin. Starsky holds him in his arms! Omg. Total crush material!!!

I made up my own truncated version of Cochran's Samhain speech to Challis when he was tied up in the chair already for the broadcast and would enact it out in dad's home bar when no-one was around.
I loved how Cochran appeared so calm and easy-going on the surface, yet underneath he was just so diabolical. He was even smiling when he got obliterated. I always wondered what he did to Ellie, if he really had her killed.

That sounds like an interesting episode to watch. What season and number is it? I have seen one you recommended with a gay theme.

I love that the protagonist in Halloween III is this washed-up middle-aged alcoholic divorced guy with a penchant for hot gals who are young enough to be his daughter. Even in the 1980's this was a novel and inspired choice for a hero in a horror movie.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
