Does anyone know where 'Yentl' was filmed? The towns were so beautiful, and i really want to know where they are. I went onto the 'film locations' section of IMDB, but all it said was New York City and Liverpool, i refuse to believe that it was all sets, they would have to be huge. I particularly want to know the location of the city at the end, whre they ride over that huge, beautiful bridge into town. There's no way that was a set!

According to this site, http://bjsmusic.com/Yentl15/chronology.html, "Yentl" was filmed in Roztyly, Zatec, and Prague (where the Charles Bridge is located), all in Czechoslovakia.

Hi,
I was suprised myself, I had no idea when I bought the movie that it was filmed in my homeland. The beautiful city you are refering to on the end is Prague, capital of the Czech Republic (former Chekoslovakia), city where I live. It now is a largely visited location by turist from all around the world, not only because of its fairytail apperance. The rest of the film is filmed in other Czech towns and countryside. As you can see at ending tiltles there is a Czech crew mentioned and there is written that the locations were filmed in Chekoslovakia.
Barbra Streisand sure knew how to pick her locations!

I like the scene where a gentle rain is falling and they show scenes from all over the town. You can almost smell the fresh, crisp air that comes with the rainfall, as it drips off the buildings and rushes through the streets.
