Why is it in movies that whenever there are guys that are close friends there will be gay people asking questions whether or not they were gay. Why does someone always have to bring up gay?

I saw this film at the theater when it first came out and several times on video, I never got any gay vibe from their relationship. Alot of people who maintain their relationship with childhood friends are considerably closer than friendships they make in adulthood.

People are homophobic and scared of male closeness.

It's not necessarily gay people wondering about such stories. I think more often it's people who are on one level or another homophobic, whether only their own private fears or their more overt political ones. Gay people appreciate it when there are good stories that don't duck the issue, but we also recognize that there are male-male loves that have nothing sexual about them. This movie is one of those.
