This movie was hilarious.a light-hearted funny comedy..Caine is good as always in his self-deprecating comedy. This movie is way better than most of the comedic junk that gets put out these days.

I love this film. It's a nice light comedy, and the scenery of Rio is a added bonus.

I think it's worthy of a 7. Definitely more than 5.6.
I have a feeling if it was made today it would have a higher rating. IMDB voters are more generous with new movies.

I personally love the movie, though I know it's not a great movie in any sense of the word I always love watching it but I agree it should have a higher rating. One of the best comedies of the 80s.

It certainly has its moments. Oh my god, the scene in which the daughter is telling her father she is having an affair with an older man and Michael Caine is frantically packing his suitcase in the other room makes me laugh so hard I cry.

Yeah, it's current 5.7/10 average rating is too low. it should be at least low 6's minimum.
in fact, i seen it for the first time on Jan 8th 2014 and i just finished re-watching it just now (Aug 14th 2015) for the second time and it held steady.
i give it a 7/10 which makes it roughly within my Top 275 movies (i have seen 1,850+ total movies to date) simply because there is only around 275 movies i gave a 7/10 or higher to.

I gave it a 7 as well.totally underrated movie. I loved it! Laughed so hard!
