What was Jason still doing in the basement after he killed Rob?

Rob took forever to die, i mean as Rob was screaming "he's killing me" Trish takes off running but you can still hear Rob screaming "he's killing me" LOL. So i would assume Jason was looking for other objects to use on Rob to make sure he was dead, he could of possibly cut off Rob's head or something lol

Just like that scene in Dirty Work: "OH NO, NOW HE'S GOT THE CHAINSAW, AND HE'S USING IT ON ME!!!"
But seriously, you know how bad guys in horror films never have human urges while on the hunt? Jason was basically grabbing his bag lunch, having a martini, using the restroom, washing his hands, cleaning off his mask, and just cleaning up a little before finishing off the rest. You know, basic maintenance that just went to hell in Part 6. -

Jason found a joint on Rob and had to smoke it. When he reached his hand up through the stairs at Trish he was just trying to offer her a smoke. But she decided to hurt him and it made him want to kill her again.

I always wondered what Jason was doing in the basement in the first place. He'd already finished everyone in the house off; why he'd go down there at all is a mystery to me.
Trish was retarded in that scene. I'm sorry, I know that word isn't PC anymore, but good lord. You're gonna risk slicing open an artery on a piece of window glass or having the fiend in the basement catch up to you because a dead girl is laying on the threshold of the doorway? She's dead, I don't think she's gonna mind if you literally step over her dead body, Trish. And then the MENSA contender decides to nail the f'ing doorways because it's not as if she just passed through this alternate entry point called a window to get back to her house to begin with. Trish wasn't doing blondes any favors.
