Exactly. If anything it showed that Dong was just an average teenager and the grandparents who hosted him has issues. He hooks up with a chick, parties, gets drunk, and is hung over the next morning. Pretty typical teenager for the time.

What's the joke about.Race. It is a racial joke then. The character plays on stereotypes. Think about Breakfast at Tiffany's. It is about cultural competence. We should be more aware of prejudice in everyday society.

LOL before I even went on this board I KNEW there would be at least one post whining about how the movie was "racist toward Chinese people. All the jokes are clearly light hearted and tongue in cheek to anyone who doesn't have a stick up their ass.
