In all honestly, I think
Commando
isn't in need of a remake, but if I could think of a movie being the closest to being a remake, it'd probably be
Taken
with Liam Neeson. It's an entirely different film, but it has the same overall plot, former "killing machine" fights his way through bad guys who kidnapped his daughter.
The same can be said for an
Escape from New York
remake; Hollywood doesn't need to remake it, Neil Marshall's 2008 film
Doomsday
has already done that job, in a certain way.
