Seriously. He has no family. He has all these toys and gadgets. A house. Where does he get the money to live?
He's just a gigolo and everywhere he goes,
People know the part he's playin'.
Pay for every dance, sellin' each romance,
Ooohh what they're sayin'?
There will come a day, when youth will pass away,
What will they say about him?
When the end comes he'll know, there was just a gigolo's
Life goes on without him. -

As a kid watching this, I was one of the more analytical children. While for the most part I didn't voice the question aloud and just went along with the premise, I always assumed that from the trappings of his dwelling that he was rich either through an inheritance or otherwise independently wealthy. He seems to invent all kinds of little knick-knacks and Goldberg machines - perhaps he owns several patents that pay high dividends?
I don't know if you're aware of this but I've already changed things. I killed Ben Linus.

I always thought that he made a living by playing himself on Pee Wee's Playhouse - and that this film was just simply Pee Wee with a few days off from work.
I've always thought this same thing!
There was this fire, and I had to save it from a baby
