I loved her Billy Idol wall in the film! She was great but then again her character wasn't far off from who she was at that time apparently.

Yes Demi is so good in thisJoel Schumacher has gone on record stating that there was just no one around like Demi who could have pulled off a rather complex role for a very young actress.
Note the subtlety of Alec's witty remark "are you the new Middle-Eastern Ambassador" - having declined a gang bang with the Arabs in the Pontamac Suite Jules then chooses to accept an earlier offer to get boffed by the Jewish systems analyst (from the bank where she works I presume.)
And she really does look 'out of it' in that sceneacting of course.
