I just started rewatching for the first time after like 20 years when I saw it as a child and I kinda thought it would be like a silly moment of reminiscince - and it is to a certain degree but I cant believe how good the cinematography is. the lighting and the framing and some angles of shots are ridicolously nice.
anyone else have that feeling after watching again after a long while?

Yeah, it's probably the most competent part of the movie.

You are absolutely correct. It's a very good looking movie.
So many stories, so little time.

Just rewatching with my boys. The cinematography is good; Scotland looks gorgeous.
The story is still good, it draws you in.
The special effects and some of the acting, well, that holds up not as well, not at all.
            Still, an enjoyable film.

The main "hero" is very bad actor, one of the worst I have seen in a major feature film. Kurgan is so good he saved the entire movie and completely overshadowed Sean Connery, who was also excellent in his role.

Spot on! The Kurgan is quite possibly the greatest cinematic villain ever.

Yes, Lambert was, er odd casting from a number of perspectives, not least him supposed to be a Highland Scot…like wtf.
The Kurgan was great and Connery at his most charming.

                    No, it’s good.
I was watching the other day on my big screen was shocked how good it and futuristic it looked and was surprised how this classic masterpiece didnt do that good at the box.
