Anyone else notice this with the pennies?

The boys adventure starts because Vern was looking for his jar of pennies he buried under his porch when he overheard the two gang members talking about the dead kid by the R & R trax.
Then when they all return back to town after their time away and as Vern leaves the others and heads home he says, "Look! A penny!" and picks it up to keep it.
So their adventure starts and ends with Vern and his pennies.
Nice way to bookend it.
