Hi I agree that the 'union' would have been much better off with only the strong countries forming the club.
With so many economically diverse countries allowed into the Euro it was always doomed to fail. If you can't set your own exchange rate then all your industry suffers if it becomes uncompetitive.
I'm am for some freedom of movement for labour because before the polish plumbers and builders arrived (as an example) we had to pay high money for sometimes low quality work as there was no competition. However it went too far.
Refugees have always been a problem. You can make a firm argument that we should never have invaded Iraq and made many mistakes in Syria - so now we have a real mess which we helped to create.
Bashar al-Assad is a truly terrible man - murderous and uncaring- but sometimes when I look at the human rights atrocities committed in Saudi Arabia they come over as just as bad. But of course they are our oil friends - so it's ok that they behead people and bomb civilians.
I think we have a duty to take some refugees in. -

I think we have a duty to take some refugees in.
I agree Ewaf and my country has a long tradition of being a safe haven, and I am proud of that legacy(it was the basis of our Golden Century during the 16/17th century). And where in many areas my country lay the foundations of the modern world of today. But of late too many seeking easy money and with no respect for our traditions and culture having used the guise of political refugee, are making a mess of things and put real refugees in a a bad light and that is where the backlash comes from too many people in my country (like those in the US and the UK)have felt neglected by their politicians in favour of these (fake) refugees and minorities and their way too costly pet-projects that add up to nothing in the end. There is where the anger lies mostly it's not against refugees it's against profiteers and all others who don't want to invest in themselves and our society only seeking the benefits and not the burdens.
Also they feel let down by Europe as I previously explained, and it certainly doesn't help your trustworthiness when you as a prime minister make a promise "No more Euro to Greece" when you have break that promise only two months in office. -

Why does a country have an obligation to take in refugees?
Why don't those people in that country fix the problem that is making them refugees in the first place? That is their obligation.
Also I find it odd that the refugees want to go to the countries that give out the most and best benefits. That, in and of itself speaks volumes about the refugees.

We might never know. The Multiverse theory is a very interesting one - there might even be one where Donald Trump isn't about to become president and destroy the planet
