Whoever said he seduced uma thurman is wrong. He basically raped her and then the older woman manipulated her into accepting it. Why do you think he killed himself at the end because he was borderline apathetic evil bastard and finally found a woman who made him feel and knew he couldn't be with her after all that. So woman, you must all face the fact that you all get turned on by a man forcing himself on you.. : O

Alan Rickman should have been cast in this role, as he played the character on the stage. However, Rickman wasn't a big enough name at the time for the jerks in Hollywood. Malkovich is as ugly as a mud fence, and he sucks as an actor.

As an actor, I think he's immensely talented and quite attractive.
As the character, I despised him. I found him creepy, cruel, self-centered, and pompous, all qualities that deeply turn me away from any man if there is enough of any one, nevermind a collection of all of them. -

I find John Malkovich so attractive throughout this movie. Detestable character, but the way Malkovich portrays him was incredible. Personally, I think the scene where he is staring at Madame de Tourvel during the opera performance is really sexy.

He is a complete miscast and almost ruins the film although it is barely his fault.
