I think it's funny you dont think Hispanics cant have American names. A cousin of mine named her daughter Nicole, I was like wtf so did another Cousin, named him Brandon, Again wtf. IF you look at the list of registry names you'd be very very surprised.
yea, he's name was Albert Clifford Slator but he could've easily been born in American with An American father or several generations. He did go to an almost all white rich kids school and he sort of was himself. He wasnt all that his Hispanic or Mexican in the show and he was into white girls. So it all made sense. Lisa wasnt all that black. Belding wasnt that abusive, school wasnt that hard, girls werent that uptight, there was no gangs or violence. It was a kids show.

Of course parents can give their child any first name. That's not the point. AC's last name is Anglo.
I know few Latinos with Spanish first names. The question is about the surname.

My Mexican cousins don't name their kids Spanish names
I like Spanish names like Matias and Joaquin

Because of my work I have a lot of paisa friends from there, so they have Spanish first names. But Chicanos born in the the U.S. rarely have Spanish names.
I like the name Armando, from one of my first real loves. If I had a son I'd name him Armando.

That's possible in real life, sure.
However, remember, this was on a tv show where his entire character was an invention of script writers. The fact they chose an Anglo last name for a Latino is more likely just racism, trying to make the character appeal to a mainstream white audience.
It could also be that the character was never written as a Latino. Maybe the Latino actor just got the role after the character had been named. In that case, it was an honest oversight.
