I don't hate her in later seasons… well, the ones I saw. I kinda only watched bits of the seasons from like 98 or 99 onwards.
I like the newer episode with them in New Orleans. They make the food look so realistically good and get the way the restaurants look correct.

i still watch all new episodes religiously, and the New Orleans episode ("Lisa Gets the Blues") in season 29 was one of the best newer ones ever. it’s affecting, especially with Smith giving voice to Lisa’s pain, the intentions of recapturing the old Lisa Simpson tragicomic resonance over a succession of self-referential gags is palpable, with consistently sketched character beats, and some of the most hilarious tourist rubbernecking the show has ever done.
