The place probably went out of business because their burger had less meat. LOL!

I do not know if it is referring to it but in Southern Ohio there is a restaurant chain called White Castle and their patties have holes in them.

I wonder if Oliver Stone was displaying any anti-Semitism with the Stevie Boyer character, being that he refuses to enlist, and gets a business right out of college, conning people out of money

I don't think Boyer was "conning" anyone; the reason that White Castle put holes in their patties was to make them cook faster; it's likely Boyer's burger patties had holes in them for the same reason.
A burger joint is a legitimate business, and people aren't going to patronize such an establishment unless they like the product.
With regard to Boyer not going to Vietnam, and criticizing it, I saw this as a position that Oliver Stone was more sympathetic to than Ron's patriotic mindset, so, no anti-semitism on Stone's behalf.

My God, White Castle and Crystal Burgers are pure filth! Worse than McDonald's!
I'd say Stevie's business was based on White Castle
Isn't it a little far-fetched that he owns a very successful burger joint right out of college? And such a douche bag!

I think he was definitely being underhanded. I just watched this and put his lines below.
"My idea gets us 18 patties to the pound instead of 16. Saves me about $40,000 a year. That's serious money Ron. And then I plug the hole with lettuce, tomatoes, chopped onions, spices, our secret sauce, and I cover the whole thing with a pickle. They'll never miss a thing Ron"

I wouldn't doubt that whole burger scene was Stone's way of trying to make capitalism look like some sort of scheme that rips off the people.
Though, that's the great thing about free market capitalism. You can have some shady company try and rip off the public with a low quality product, but there will always be some competition to step in and produce a better product.
I can go to White Castle and get a burger with an ounce of meat, or go to some other joint that sells 5" thick burgers.

Capitalism is not at all a scheme to rip off people. Capitalism is a mode of organization of the economy that aims for the further growth of existing capital. Since I don't have any, it doesn't have a great appeal to me.
Oligopoly that masquerades as democracy is the scheme to rip off people.
