This movie was exceptional. I was in awe the whole time just to see how good it holds up. The cinemetography- beautiful
The acting- great , the story- also great, the music one of williams best. I just dont understand the score 7.2? What? And movies like the avengers make the top 250 list? I know they are two different films but its still unfair. Especially the themes the movie touches make this movie what it is- a classic.

it's great the first time you see it but has very low replay value.
watching it once every 10 years is the only way to get the best value out of it

haha nice =] most of my favorite movies have low replay value, in truth. like The Thin Red Line, Brazil, The Seventh Seal which top my favorite movies list.

Great movies dont need replay value. You dont go to an exposition every week to see the same picture. You see it once and think about it to suck it all in.

Totally agree. My favourite Stone film. I mean, 7.2 is a good score but the average should be closer to 8.

                  an incredible gut wrenching experience.
I cannot count the number of times I have
seen it and there are still tears in my
                  eyes during certain scenes.

I whole heartedly agree. While I do like The Avengers for what it is, This is for more deserving of an "8.something" score.

It really is a masterpiece. Stone made three truly great films: JFK, BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY and PLATOON. This one, however, is probably his most emotionally affecting.
