Even James told Mollie that wasn't really responsible of her to get pregnant under those circumstances, after Mollie reprimands him for botching Albert's attempt to see Mikey, telling James that Albert is everything he's not ("[Albert's] responsible and good to his other kids!").

I always got the feeling that Albert was stringing Mollie along and making out that his marriage was on the rocks anyway - and she was just "waiting" for him to leave his wife.

Yes she knew, but he led her on telling her he was leaving his wife. She was in her 30s and it almost seemed like she was desperate to be with someone. I thought it was funny how she lied to her doctor about her age lol.
