Tbh I was bothered by it as well but it was a different time and like someone else said it's just what people did back then. You couldn't text the girl you love and have a complicated history with and be like, "Yo girl I love you and I want another chance. Here's what happened in Moby Dick." beep like that.
You can't apply today's standards and social constructs to a movie from 1989, a thirty year old movie. It was a different generation.

For the most part, she still loved him. I really don't think if she had no desire to really be with him, she she would tolerated all the "stalking". And remember, she did come to see him play out of the blue, which more likely led to him following her back to her place.

The moral of the story is: Stalking Works.

I wasn't bothered any more than Lynn was in the movie, although it was written by a man so it's not fair to assume that is the way a real woman would've reacted.

The Beta-Males of today's generation wouldn't get it. There was no texting, no "practical" cell phone usage, no cancer known as social media for some twit to tweet their every emotion whilst crying and hoping someone would pay attention to them. You went after what you wanted. Period. Case in point:
Lynn's Fiancee: (smiling) Stay away from her
Jake: (smiling back) Suck my dick.
You'll work on "We were making too much money".

Dude, lighten up! This is a fictional comedy movie. It's not real. Just like when you watched Thelma & Louise. They didn't really commit suicide. It was just play acting. Ask your parents to explain it to you.

                  Grow up Snowflake.
So he followed her home. Does not meet the legal defenition of stalking.
Nothing he did meets the legal defenition of stalking.
It is obvious from his actions, not to mention NEVER having been there before, that he did not know that the elevator opens directly into the apartment.
And when he went into her apartment, she did not object.
Had there been a history of her being scared of him or something then maybe it would be the case buy there really is no case for your argument.
You know KID, it is better to remain silent and be thought a cuck, than to speak up and remove all doubt.

You know back in the old days stalking as you call it was how people met each other and ended up getting married. Ever listened to old timers talk about how they got together? The woman will talk about how she kept knocking the guy back and the guy kept asking her out until she said yes.
They then fall in love get married and stay together for the rest of their lives.
Now when you compare that to our times when most people are single, relationships don't last and marriages end in divorce, it "stalking" to use your term sounds like the way to go doesn't it?
Sometimes a movie or tv show plot is so stupid that only the stupid can understand it.

So following a woman home without her knowledge and then breaking and entering into a private residence is the same as asking a girl out again even after she turned you down.
You know you sound stupid right?

                        He didn't break and enter.
And you know that trying to apply retarded 2017 PC logic to a much more sane and happy time is really stupid, right?
Now that you have proven yourself incapable of civilized discussion you can go and play with the other PC spastics on my blocked list.
