If anyone has a copy of this movie (English version), please email me at NJKid2003@msn.com. I'd be willing to purchase a copied version of it or trade for it. Thanks.

I've wanted to see this movie ever since it was
made and am amazed that it's NEVER been released in the cinema shown on tv or released
on video or dvd with an English soundtrack!
After spending lots of money making this movie
you'd think the copyright holders would want to
make as much money as possible from it. -

The music was released both on lp and on cd - I have the lp, myself, but if you watch ebay you'll eventually find the cd. It's expensive, though. Unfortunately, the soundtrack DIDN'T include one of the pieces I liked the best - the music for the Festival of the Supreme Being.
I'll have a bourbon and tomato juice. -

I saw this at the Seattle International Film Festival many years ago (2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon, and 2 hours in the evening!) and have been looking for a copy ever since. I'd even settle for a French version with English subtitles. What a masterpiece.

You would even settle for French with English subtitles? IMHO, that's the only way to watch it. I don't understand French but movies about the French Revolution must be in French language to get the whole feel.

I have found a copy and it is for sale. Go to ioffer.com and key in "French Revolution" for a search - seller "vespasian" has it. I bought a DVD copy (in English) - Part 1 (Years of Hope - 2 disks) and Part 2 (Years of Fear/Terror - 2 disks). It cost something like US$25 but was worth it. What an incredible miniseries. The quality is television/VHS (copied from when it was aired on bctv) rather than digitized, bright colours, etc., but it is entirely watchable and enjoyable. It is just heartbreaking to see this gem not officially upgraded to DVD quality and sold publicly - I would buy it again if it were. However, at least the original version can be purchased/seen.
