I love this movie, but the one part that creeped me out was the relationship between Nicolette and Garcia. Garcia is obviously a full grown man (at least 25, if not 30 years old). Nicolette is, at most 14 or so, probably younger. Why on Earth is it implied that they're having some kind of illicit affair?!
Between a sideways glance they share at the dinner table (when Garcia puts her plate down) and how he grabs her butt when they're dancing, it's kind of unsettling. Not to mention the fact that he was 'relieved of his duties' by Mary, then rejects her later on in the movie. It's almost as if Nicolette was filling the void. Kind of bizarre for an otherwise funny, lighthearted movie to have a pedophile randomly thrown in.

The whole odd attraction between Garcia and Nicolette always kind of bugged me, too. It wouldn't have been as off (although still illegal, technically) if she had been just a couple of years older, like 16 or 17. As dlmedley noted, I don't think they did anything other than in that dancing scene, but that look between them at the dinner table was still a little weird.

Like it's already been stated before, I think they just dirty danced and that was all. He probably had feelings for her and considering her father was a man whore, it wouldn't surprise me if she made it easy for him when he made advances toward her.

Yeah, it was pretty weird. A Martinez was 40 in 1989, and the girl looked about 13 or 14.
