If you've watched the extras you'd find-out that yes that scene with McClane jumping from a helicopter to the wing of a moving 747 is just exactly that. So is the fight on the wing. Although the 747 in the hanger is fake. Of course I bet the plane was going the slowest it could (or it was possibly being pulled by a tug and they didn't mention that part on the extras).

Yep, today that would all be CGI and it would suck. The idea of using real stunts and real planes/choppers just gave that scene such a cool, impressive look.

Really? What makes you say that? It looked pretty real to me when they boarded it.

When the hanger doors open up, strangely you don't see the plane's tail or horizontal stabalizers. You can sort of make it out here (best picture I could find):

When they board it, it looks too big to be a fake plane, though.
