I used to hate this movie (and Critters 4, more on that one later, perhaps). But I relatively recently picked up all the DVDs for cheap and watched this one most recently, after thoroughly enjoying 1 and 2.
Not as bad as I remembered it at all.
The Crites/Krites/Critters LOOK better here than anywhere before and well, let's just say the acting doesn't take any sort of SERIOUS dip
my only complaint would be body count. shoulda been 2 more people eaten, like the fat lady and maybe one of the old people. -

Yes I agree that there should have been more of a body count like the first two Critters movies. I mean I liked them all but it just felt as if it became worse after the third film. It would be nice if they revamped this with a 5th Critters movie. That would be totally cool to see!
The only thing is that would todays generation like the cheesiness of the late 80's and part of the early 90's though/ If you look at it the films of today are completely different from movies made back in the 80's and 90's.

This is actually my favorite out of the series. I like them all, but what I most like here is the critters themselves. They really do look better here then ever before, with more emotion, expression, and for some reason I really like having a distinguishable leader (The one with a bleached eye) even if it's too similar to having Stripe!
I also like that there was a reletively small cast. It gives you a chance to get to know everyone better, which is one reason I don't mind the death toll being lower. Although I just watched the first film last night, and I only counted 2 deaths there as well. It was really just Critters 2 that went overboard with death scenes.
Finally I really liked the cliffhanger ending with Ug, even though the follow-up film didn't pan out quite so well.

I saw this for the first time recently and I thought it was better than the second one (which I first saw years ago alongside the first one), which I thought got a little too slapstick at times.
The Critters were really fun in this one.
I thought it was funny though that this one was marketed as a kind of 'Critter Take Manhattan' type movie but they only had a budget to keep it in one apartment block.

This movie was very good. I enjoyed it. I saw it once on TV late one night over a year ago, and I purchased the DVD some months ago. I didn't see it from the beginning. I'm not a huge Leonard DiCaprio fan, but from the movies I've seen him in, this is on the top list. Yes, that's right.

No youre not, this movie has so many funny moments, its classic horror that doesnt take itself too seriously. That moment where the dad walks into the room and three critters turn around to look at him all the same time still cracks me up

It's OK for what it is, I just wish it had less of Charlie in it He served a purpose in the first two as the small-town idiot, but he just felt out of place and unnecessary, here.

It's better than 4. Not as good as 1 and 2. It's ok. The critter kills aren't as good as the ones from the first two movies. Leonardo DiCaprio, Rosie and Marcia were the only characters I didn't want to get eaten.
