Horrible vapid movie

It's a great performance. But it's a character study about a character I don't care to see. I don't mind morally reprehensible characters necessarily. But this one didn't do it for me. It's a provocative movie, I will say that. I like Abel Ferrara's previous film, King of New York. And I like Werner Herzog's loose remake of this movie. But this one is just too consistently brutal and bleak. I can't imagine ever watching it again.

Spoiler ahead
Yep, good performance in search of a movie. Plot very predictable. POS cop doubling down on bets. Nobody expected he would win. Everyone should have known the bookies would have to kill him in the end. Nuns character was as wooden as BVM statue. But Blame the script for that. Tell the rapists to get on the bus – at this point sure why not lets just finish this up. To those who say character study – what character? What don't you know about him you didn't see in the first 20 minutes? -

The director is a ****ing crackhead. This movie was recommended to me by an alcoholic. Go figure.
There are a ton of great, dark movies. But then again, some would rather have sex with a robot, or listen to a cover tribute band despite the real thing being out there.
