    Sure he didn't show emotion but that was the point of the character. You want to see other movies where he acts good watch Home Alone 1 and 2, was excellent in both. He was so convincingly evil and scary in this.

      Yes, he portrayed someone with a thirst of seeing other people suffer well. I would even say that his acting was better than Stanley Tucci's in
      The Lovely Bones
      .
