Is it just me or did anyone else notice this? It seemed like in almost every single line, Macaulay is just dead-panning it; same mono-tone with zero dramatic or suspenseful effect whatsoever. Now I know this was more than likely intentionally to make him seem more "creepy".and it works at some parts. But others, I get the vibe he's just reading straight from the script. Maybe I'm just picky, but yeah, that annoys me. Other than that, good movie though!

Macaulay cannot act. That is the obvious explanation

I agree. I understand he was a crazy kid and wasn't supposed to show much remorse or emotion, but there's a way to do that without sounding like you're just reading off a piece of paper. Especially the scene where Mark thinks Henry poisoned the food in the fridge: "Go on, Mark. Get something to eat. What are you waiting for? Oh. I see. You think I'm trying to poison my family."
But year, overall a decent movie.

That's how the character is. Emotionless. Except when he kills or causes accidents. Typical serial killer ways.

I too agree that Culkin did not do a convincing job. I feel that he was stuntcasted in this, and that the filmmakers only got him cause he was a child hit at the time, without regards if he was the best in the part or not.
