Wayne's World 3

A lot of folks have posted stuff like this - here was my response:
I'm sorry but I don't buy that plot sir. Garth would've totally stayed current regarding technology - at the time of the flick the internet was inching its way in. There's no way he wouldnt catch on to the audio/visual mess of internet of today. In fact, I'm sure he was even one of those dudes that was using a modem simply to talk back and forth to a select group of geeks, as well possinly useing it to buy movie tickets. Garth would stay current regarding tech stuff, and Wayne would be the show's viral, guerilla marketing guy, with his outgoing personality. A better, and quite realistic storyline would be something having to do with their access station shutting down do to lack of support from the town and lack of funding from the cable company - therefore they turn to the internet, to Garth's delight. Wayne would certainly get a myspace page, where he would pimp out the show to much younger fans, what with young teenagers' fascination with 80's and early 90's pop culture coming into fashion, it seems. That reminds me - beep selling re-print Ninja Turtles t-shirts at Hot Topic - I want a WayneStock shirt!
One of the reasons I love Wayne's World so much is not just being able to relate to the charactors and culture, but also because I work with video and in TV, and have done stuff in public access cable. If these flicks have a sort of cult following, I would hope that word of how cool this "franchise" is gets around to younger people and it becomes a trendy thing - not that that would really be a positive thing but when I see TMNT, Transformers and The Goonies pastered all over new merchandise, I wonder where the Wayne's World stuff is.
Somthing new I have to add, regarding how you think they would be polar opposites today - I think it is a funny concept for a comedy sketch, but as a whole movie it wouldnt work. Its kind of a one note gag. I think its more realistic, when you look at how strong both Wayne and Garth's personalities are, that Wayne's outgoing nature and knack for witty verbiage and Garth shyness would either have gotten stronger, or tamed down a bit since 93. I do agree with the concept of them still dressing the same and listening to the same music - what would now be definably classic rock. -

I was under the impression that Mike Myers (successful post-SNL, see Austin Powers franchise) and Dana Carvey (unsuccessful post-SNL, mostly support parts) weren't exactly the best of friends after WW2. That might complicate things a bit.

yep Mike Mysers and Dana Carvey pretty much dispise each other making it very hard to so a sequal I heard Mike Myers joke in an interview that ww3 would only go ahead if they filmed their parts seperately and cut them together at the end could you imagine that?

have you never heard the likes of:
The Darkness
The White Stripes
Kings of Leon
Franz Ferdinand
Muse
Queens of the Stone age????????????????
its all new music, maybe your a little isolated from the non- pop,cribs,10 song radio station view of things in the states but rock music is alive and well on the other side of the atlantic, do yourselves a favour and listen to the darkness and Queens of the Stone Age if your too lazy to listen to the others, if you do you too will want another WW!!! -

I am actually quite happy with the way music is today, it is very diverse.
I am not a fan of "Pop" music or Rap and it's affiliates.
However I do like Rock, and it is big right now. Bands like Nickelback, Darkness, White Stripes, Billy Talent, Danko Jones, Finger Eleven, etc, etc Are really doing a good job, and I don't even like most of those bands.
Even bands that have been around for a long time like RHCP and Tool are still producing good music.
Either way, the real reason why we are here.
Wayne's World 3, maybe before, like 2 years after Wayne's World 2 came out, just because those characters were not really forgotten at that time. I am not saying that they are forgotten now, at least not by the posters on this thread, but some people recognize Mike Myers as Austin Powers now, instead of Wayne, you know what I mean?
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see another Wayne's World movie. But it just won't happen. Oh well. -

What the hell is wrong with you people? Wayne's World and WW2 were FANTASTIC movies but haven't we learned anything from "Dumb and Dumberer," "Terminator 3," and "Freddy Vs. Jason?" Sequels made more than 10 years later SUCK.
It would be no good without Mike and Dana, and even if it starred them, it would STRUGGLE to be decent because the two actors are OLD now. Yes, they are funny, but in a different way.
I also agree with the music argument. What will they rock out to? Music, comedy, and the English language is different now than it was in 1994. Let's enjoy WW for what it was, and always will be. But please, let it rest in peace. -

Shyaa right! And monkeys might fly out of my butt! Seriously though I would pay to see a 3rd installment in the theater. I would just have to locate my best friend from grade school who I happened to see the first 2 movies with.
