Ok, please don't call me ignorant for asking this. But how do they film scenes where a bull rider is gouged by a bull? I know they probably use a stunt double, but it looks pretty real, and how do they do it without endangering the person?

It is real. They just film real bull riders. Go to any professional rodeo, and you will see riders get caught under the bull and get stomped on. I'm sure they just filmed until it happened. You life is already endangered when you get on the bull in the chute.
