Two out of three Canadians live on the US-Canadian border. If you hate the US so much, get the beep away from us.
Two out of three Canadians live on the US-Canadian border? Did you skip geography? Where do you get this crap from? -

"Two out of three Canadians live on the US-Canadian border. If you hate the US so much, get the beep away from us."
That is one of the stupidest things I have ever read.
It doesn't make any sense. Yes, some Candians live on the border. BUT NOT TWO THIRDS OF OUR POPULATION.
Some Americans live on the border, too. If you hate Canada so much, move it.

The reply is all in good fun I doubt any sane person would believe the two would ever fight

"Yah but remember Canada has Nuclear Power Plantswhich means we have Nuclear material which means that it ain't that hard to make a dirty bomb and beep the U.S of A."
Very true..if its was an annouced attack. But if the plants were levelled in an immediate airstrike, there would be little time to obtain enough enriched uranium. You would have most in those facilities trying to leave but it would likely be a night attack with minimal staff or chance to respond.
"It's true the US military outnumbers the Canadian Military, but don't forget there are plenty of people like me who would become guerrilla fighters, with all the gadgets, tech and resources at my disposal I can do a whole hell of a lot more damage than a guerrilla fighter in places like Iraq where many modern technologies are not so easily acquired."
If they sought to hold the cities, then guerilla tactics would work. But if they levelled the cities and destroyed the infrastructure, then it would be a tough approach to disrupt newly held territories. Say a one mile perimeter was established and the millitary there therefore had clear visibility, fortified position, etc. You think the few survivors left could make any approach? They could try for a convoy or two perhaps. But if the gloves were off and the millitary shot on site with superior firepower, the efforts from the decimated populace would yield minimal results.
"But it's irrevelant really as I don't think Canada and the US would go to warwhat would be the point? But maybe if the US government tries to grab our artic territories."
I doubt they would. Theyd just borrow more money from China and pay Canada for the resources, eh?

If the US were to go to war with a neighbour they'd fight Mexico first, there's far less foreign trade at stake. I could see the US take on Canada but only if it were part of a bigger war in which the two joined opposite sides. It wouldn't be just US vs. Canada. Like it or not Canada does have far more allies who would defend them than the states. Let's face it if it did happen it would be the US starting it, Canada never starts wars.

It boggles the mind that this thread, posted with obvious tongue in cheek on June 1,
2003
is getting both Canadians and Americans so riled. Who really believes that Canadians are threatening? The OP said
"I say we take a hint from this movie and attack now! Who's with me?!?!"
Come on. That's funny! But there seems to be very few who see the humour in this.
I can only imagine that anyone who is living outside of the US or Canada and reading this thread must think that both countries are the biggest cry babies on the face of the earth.
Can we just all get a sense of humour instead of being but the butt of the joke? And kevjohn, you silly OP you, what do you think of what you've created?
