That's fair enough. How about 30 days of night? That's a big favourite of mine, the vampires are totally different.

That's more my speed. I mentioned to somebody I like my vampires to be a little dirty
and wearing a duster. Not wearing frilly puffy sleeves.
Somebody like Cassidy from Preacher. He's a guy you could hang with.

Cassidy was sound, I completely lost interest in that show after season 2 no idea why. He was definitely the best thing in it.
I loved 30 days of night, very visceral animal like creatures, it got a bit of flak at the time. I have the graphic novel somewhere. -

Season 2 was a lot different. I'm still in it for the long haul.
Not sure how many seasons they have left in them.
Did you see the second 30 Days movie? So disappointing.

I think I've seen a good chunk of them. The Hunger, Thirst, The Addiction, Innocent Blood are a few that come to mind.
And NO I haven't seen anything Twilight related. I do have a line!
Not a big werewolf fan. I did just watch A Company of Wolves which is my favorite
werewolf movie of all time. I hadn't seen in 30 years.
I did a little write up on it on it's movie board.
Are you a werewolf fan?

To my shame I watched the Twilights, the worst thing about those films was the lack of charisma of the two leads.
Yes I'm a fan of the werewolf genre. I haven't seen a Company of Wolves for years, may have to give it a rewatch.
The whole mythos behind Dracula is fascinating. I've watched several adaptations, but couldn't finish the book, barely even got to his castle when I gave up! -

It's scary to think in 30 years the tweeners who watched Twilight will be somewhere talking about how it was the best film series ever.
After watching COW again I picked up on so much of what the actual story was about.
The first time I saw it I thought it was just a good horror movie.
Had no idea what was really going on with the story.
Dracula and vampires have that way about them. There's nothing really like it in the horror genre.

I never would have thought Cruise could pull off Lestat, but he ended up arguably being the best part of the film.
The train is coming with shiny cars, comfy seats, and wheels of stars. Hush, little ones, have no fear; the man in the moon is the engineer. -

This movie really grew on me over the years. I've never been much of a fan of either of the leads, but I think Louis is one of my favorite roles by Pitt. His vengeance on the Theatre is one of my favorite vampire movie scenes.

Oh, I didn't know that, but well won if it did. It had such a gritty, foreboding feel to it. Perfectly pictured as a nest for creatures of the night. That's probably a part of what makes that whole segment of the movie so memorable to me.

Thank you NZer. I do remember us talking about vampires a while back, and how we both had a kinship when it came to this. I'll bet between us, we've seen a good variety of flicks from spanning genres.
This one really caught me off guard because as much as I adore Tom Cruise, I like him as an action star, and just couldn't see him pulling this off, but he did it beautifully.

Hahah! Naw, it's sort of this ongoing thang here, with a few of us who either really liked the movie, or really, REALLY hated the movie, lol. It's all good natured barbs.
I'm in the camp of enjoying it. I also did not read her book. To the surprise of many, I'm not particularly a fan of Anne Rice (except I enjoyed her Sleeping Beauty series). I read Interview, and Lestat, but she's not really my cup of tea in terms of how she can go off on tangents with excessive detail (again, something I, myself, am extremely guilty of in my own posts).
But yes, alas,…I did like the movie. Perhaps because I didn't read the book, I had nothing to make comparisons with, so I judged it on it's own merit.

No! I didn't even know she had a son. Go figure. I was more "in tune" with her many years ago, but I haven't really stayed up to snuff with her or what she's up to.
What is her son's name and what sort of things does he write about?
Truth is I tend to read mostly non-fiction, which is why I'm not familiar with so many of these fantasy novels. I focus a lot on history, biographies, military history, psychology, philosophy, health & fitness… I don't have much experience in non-fiction work when it comes to books.
Oh, except Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I love their work!
