Interview with A vampire ??? Anyone remember this as the real title?

it's THE..not A.look at old copies of the book from a library.
If you type "interview with"..google suggests "a vampire".so I guess most people think it is A, not THE.

I am almost 100% sure it was "A" not "the". What is going on? Interview with The Vampire makes no sense. There is no one vampire. It is A vampire.
