The movie didn't have that fear of crime on the streets like TAXI DRIVER, THE WARRIORS,DEATH WISH etc.,etc. It was like a N.Y. I've never seen in the movies.

Totally agreed. I love 90's New York in film & there is no doubt this film captured so much about the setting that is strongly nostalgic. Don't let anyone who didn't live in NYC during the 90's tell you otherwise
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints is another film, really good Queens dipiction there too
