Someone on the Firefly board recommended this show. I finally got around to purchasing the DVD and am through half the episodes. This is one of those types of shows that just normally do not get made for TV.
I was curious what the history of this show was. I see at the end it is distibuted by Touchstone (Disney) which makes it even more surprising.
Anyways, any history on this show would be apprciated since I had never heard of it and it is a top 10 SCIFI TV Show IMO.
Thanks,

I just finished The Gemini Man episode.
Overall,I liked the show a great deal and can say it was probably the best acted SCIFI show of it's time.
I have to admit I saw the ending coming pretty soon especially when I saw the title of the episode. Regardless, that was a fun ride and although they could have continued the show, it at least ended in a way that could have ended the series. I am curios when the Patriot Act was proposed since this show made a big point about giving up personal rights in the name of "safety">
Got any other good show recommendations especially SCIFI wise?
Here are some of my favoraite SCIFI TV shows:
Firefly
Farscape
The X-Files
Space Above and Beyond
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles
Nowhere Man of course
Futurama
The Outer Limits (original and remakes)
Dr Who (especially the first two doctors of the newer series)
Dollhouse during it's short run
Star Trek (Mainly TOS/TNG)
Flash Forward (Every show I like gets cancelled by fox)
Sliders (This show was great for the first 2 seasons)
Shows that may be popular but I thought were OK or didnt like:
BSG Yes it had some gret episodes especially early but it is cler the writers did not know where it was going.
Stargate(all) I can never get into any of the various series. It always seemed like they lande in some woods behind a house in Canada. Seriously though, I found this show boring.
Quantum Leap This is a real hit or miss show for me. I felt it came on a little too strong abot social issues.
Buffy I like Joss Whedon but could never get into Buffy or Angel.
Fringe The alter world never worked for me and didnt like the dual characters.
Lost Great show for just over 2 seasons then fell apart IMO. Seemed to be dragged on way too long with pointless filler episodes.
Thats just off the top of my head. I am sure if I searched the net for lists of SCIFI shows, I could find more to put on mmy lists.
Thanks,

I was just curious if the Patriot Act had been discussed. However, to be fair, the government is always looking to get more control. The statement about the Patriot Act like bill almost seemed like a prediction in the show thouugh.

The beauty of the show is that the premise only seems that much more timely, at almost 20 years after the original run.
What is identity? How can it be stolen? What would happen if everything that you knew went away in an instant?
Also amazing to think about since alot of our lives are on line. -

I watched The 4400 when it first aired. I liked it but it needed a little bigger budget. I have watched continuum and love the theme about how the corporate world has taken over for the government even though the main character has not seen how the rights of the people have not been taken away. However, I quickly became bored of the show after watching Season 1 and the first 2 episodes of season 2. It just seems like that show is missing something even though I cannot put my finger exactly what it is. Haven is horrible to me. I have not seen Orphan Black and am going to look it up as soon as I am done with this post.
Thanks for the recommendations!

Good to know about Haven. I haven't started it yet but was thinking about itpeople have said it gets MUCH better in season 3, but I'm not sure that makes me want to watch it from the beginning.
I hear you about Continuum and actually just got done watching episode 7 of season 2. I felt season 2 was a letdown after what I felt was a very good first season, until last week (episode 6) where I thought it picked up againand this week was pretty good too.
Orphan Black is fascinating.great concept but even more impressive is the acting chops of the lead.
Another show that was interesting is a British show called Utopia.it was only six episodes, but something that gets you hooked right from the beginning and has an interesting story. -

Funny thing is I was just rewatching another episode of this series.
Even knowing it allI still enjoy many aspects of the show.
A friend of mine keeps going on about John Doe. Probably another one I will have to watch.
Too bad brilliant tv always gets canceled for the dreck we have to put up with in this multi channel universe.
