      So is your dumbing!
Without strife, your victory has no meaning.
Without strife, you do not advance.

I don't mind DHWAV but the McClane character works better by himself rather than with a sidekick. Die Hard 1 & 2 compliment each other well while the third feels different, very 90s. The woman who slices up the fat cop is the worst character in the die hard series.

I DON'T know WHY so MANY prefer this OVER
                Die HARD 2
?? Makes NO SENSE to me! My guess is that they are
                NOT
TRUE ACTION flick fans. IF you are a TRUE action film buff, then one and two are SUPERIOR to three.

I meant a sidekick who goes everywhere with McClane. Powell sits in his car outside for the whole movie.

Um, how are we suppposed to know that? He was still a sidekick who helped him greatly.
Samuel L. Wasnt with him the entire film neither. There was a scene where they separate and one goes to New York Stadium. Another one where one goes to the subway. I mean, its clear they werent together the whole film and they werent even that much of a side kick. There were instances where they didnt get along and in the beginning Samuel L. didnt even like him.

Think of Robin from Batman. That's a sidekick. someone who gets in on the action. Someone who accompanies the hero on his adventures. Powell doesn't do that. He sits around. He doesn't even meet John until the last scene.
SLJ was the main character after Willis in DH3. Did a lot of action. Was with McClane most of the time - on the ship, at the climax, at the riddles. He was a sidekick. It was like Lethal Weapon, Riggs-Murtaugh.

That's just perception. Alfred was also a sidekick. There are many cases like that. You dont necessarily have to follow him to be a side kick. I already said that Samuel L. Doesnt really follow him the entire movie and at times doesnt even like him or want to be with him but is basically forced to be with him( By Simon).
I almost feel that Simon was second and almost the Main Character.
